Deadly Chocolate Cake.....Chocolate Overload

 Cake Ingredients:

8 ounces of Dark Semi Sweet Chocolate with a cocoa makeup of 40-50%
2/3 cup of butter
1 cup sugar
4 Eggs
4 Heaping Teaspoons of All Purpose Flour
4 Tablespoons of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 1/2 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Extract
4 Tablespoons of Sour Cream

Frosting Ingredients:

2/3 cup of Heavy Whipping Cream
9 ounces of Semi Sweet Chocolate with a cocoa makeup of 40-50%

Preparation for Chocolate Cake 

BEGIN BY PREHEATING OVEN TO 350 DEGREES.  
Next, line a 10 inch cake pan with non stick paper and grease the tin.  Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt it with the butter in a double boiler.    In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and slowly incorporate the flour, cocoa, baking powder and vanilla extract.  Slowly fold in the butter and chocolate mixture and the sour cream.    Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry.  Let cool for at least an hour after coming out of the oven.  

Preparation for Chocolate Cake frosting

Heat the heavy whipping cream in a sauce pan.   Remove from heat and slowly add the finely chocolate 9 ounces of Semi Sweet Chocolate.   Let this mixture cool in the refrigerator until you are ready to begin frosting the cake.  

This chocolate cake is perfect for chocolate gifts or for any occasion.  And, you can turn up the heat by adding gourmet chocolate in place of the semi sweet called for in the recipe to make it a chocolate knockout for any occasion.
