It is both simple and refined, which makes it the perfect low carb mocha recipe for a dinner party.

A more formal low carb mocha recipe
When you are having a dinner party for a few friends or family, you cannot always get by with the old standards of pie or chocolate cake.  You have to prepare something a bit more sophisticated sometimes and this low carb mocha recipe is the answer.  The pastry of the low carb mocha recipe combines with the fluffy mocha filling is a rich yet light end to the meal and is great with a nice, hot cup of espresso. 

Get this stuff together and get started - it should take about 30 minutes to prepare, but will need about 6 hours to chill, so plan accordingly...


1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1 package of instant chocolate pudding ( 4 serving packet)
2 cups milk (fat free)
2 teaspoons espresso powder


MIx the water and the butter in a saucepan and bring to the boil, mix in the flour and stir quickly.  Mix all of this until it turns into a mass that can no longer be mixed, then take it off of the burner and let it cool for about 10 minutes.  Crack in the eggs and beat after each addition.  Grease a baking sheet and drop eight balls of the mixture onto the sheet, evenly separated.  Bake them at 400 degrees F for about 30 minutes or until they are a nice golden brown.  Cut the puffs in half and take out the softer inside.

Now for the filling - make the pudding according to the directions on the package, but use the fat free milk and the espresso powder.  Cover this with shrink wrap and place in the fridge to chill.  When it is ready to be served spoon the filling into the bottom half of the puff and place the top half over this.  That's all there is to this low carb mocha recipe - buon appetito!
